President Phil opened the meeting at 7.25 am
Notices:
The Science and Technology Forum has been cancelled - you have seventeen guesses why.
The Trustees met, via Zoom, of course, Rotarians follow the rules, mainly to farewell Ted and Ingrid and welcome Greg and Rory. Thanks guys for the work that you've done over the last few years to keep the club's donations on the straight and narrow.
The speaker:
Oops! He was supposed to Zoom in from his home in Ontario. He knew that the meeting was on Wednesday so he was all prepared for it. problem - it was only Tuesday in Canada so he was 24 hours late! YHC is well aware of the problem - his brother lives in Montreal so it's an easy mistake to make.
So, what to do?
As you know on the few occasions that a speaker doesn't show we talk amongst ourselves (creating some of the most useful meetings!)
Well, bearing in mind all the admonitions that we get from DGs, Greg and assorted others about membership, membership, membership we tried to convince the lovely guests Brittany and Treff that they should immediately send their subs in to join the club.
Phillippa, Don C, Ingrid, Malcolm, Barry, Max and Ted spoke of some of the projects in which the club has been involved. Even an old cynic like YHC was impressed.
We'll leave Malcolm to tell his guests of the socialising events and friendships that the club has created over the years.
After this ad hoc programme President Phil closed the meeting at 8.23.
Next week's meeting: Deb Ward from the City Mission. We've supported the mission over time, especially at Christmas so it'll be interesting to hear how the lockdowns have affected their clientele.
