Members are required to be sitting after they've checked in and paid for breakfast. As the fruit and stuff is already on the table some members start eating (Without grace, OMG!) so the meeting started with a whisper rather than the more formal announcement from either the sargent or the president.

Present: Peter D, Greg, Ted, Avis, Jim, Phil, Davids J & H, Max and YHC. Only 10- what is the club coming to?
Apologies were received from Colin, Phillippa, Colleen, Dons S & C, and Barry.

President's notices:
Second Announcements:
Christopher Luxon will speak to the club on Wednesday 27th April at a dinner at the Parnell. Put this in your diary, think of friends and neighbours you can invite  and be prepared  to sign them up - max capacity 100 (government regs. don't you know).

YHC Notice: Duties
On the left hand side of this bulletin is a list of duties that members perform for their fellow members. From time to time your name will appear here. If you are unable to carry out your role it's your responsibility to arrange an alternate.

Sargent's session:
"Prediction is the lowest form of scholarship"
YHC addition: And forecasting by modelling is in the same category.

Three minutes speaker:
Peter gave an interesting dissertation on the life, and early death of the beautiful hui. Birds that paired for life and hunted together.

Speaker: Jim Staples
Jim has been a Rotarian since 1966, in various clubs in Wellington and Auckland. He reminded us of the 14 step process that prospective members had to endure before being allowed in to the hallowed halls of membership.
He mentioned some of his fellow members who have taken prominent roles in the business community and the Rotary movement. When he came to Auckland he first joined Auckland City South which mutated (eventually) to Parnell.
There was general discussion and comments on some members' experiences of various Rotary clubs, meeting and speakers. Part of the general badinage that takes place at all the interesting meetings.

Next week: This is a Zoom meeting

                Time - 7.30 am
                Code - 870 674 6271
                Password 763092

You will see that duties have changed to recognise both how Zoom meetings work and connections with the speaker.
