Waiheke Art Trail Walk. Commentary by master scribe Nick;
"Those who weren't with us dipped out big time!
It didn't look too promising when we queued up for the free ferry.
Rory, Malcolm, Max and wife, Don C, Terry Nuttal and wife and the writer and his wife joined the line and caught the ferry.
It was a calm trip-we were met by Ingrid and Phil who guided us to the bus to the sculpture walk.-there was some interesting stuff there which owed more to the imagination rather than artistic brilliance but there was some thought provoking pieces-actually quite well worth seeing.
We then went to Phil's place via the Waiheke Art Gallery(which Linda Chalmers, past president of Parnell Rotary used to manage).
Phil with able assistance from Ingrid and Don put on a great spread of food and wine-it was worth going just for the lunch!
Then home again on the ferry, our hosts having arranged sunshine and a gentle breeze.
It was Waiheke at its best."
Normal breakfast meeting tomorrow.
