Welcome to another issue of our weekly bulletin! Below you will find out about future events, our weekly speaker and upcoming duties.

SPEAKER  -    Phil gave us an over view of things ranging from Housing First, Environment Infrastructure, a New Program they are working on called Swim Safe and the App, that you can view where its safe to swim around the Auckland district, with good water quality.  Climate Change, Rate Increases or Not!, and what Phil believes makes a good Major - Reliable/Trustworthy/Good Work Ethic/Integrity and Consistency

RYLA Dinner  -  5 July  -  
 

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Halfmoon Bay I invite you to join us at the RYLA graduation dinner to be held on Friday 5 July 2019.    The invitation attached contains all the information that you require.

Please notify us as soon as possible with the names of your members who will be attending.   The event is a formal recognition of the achievements of  the awardees over the week. Please note the conditions on the invitation.

The club members and guests you select will be allocated to tables along with the awardees that your club has sponsored.   You may wish to consider inviting your corporate sponsors and/or awardees parents if appropriate. 

Please be aware that there are limited spaces available, so your prompt response is appreciated.

One hour + people power! Quick & Dirty Thursdays allow those with busy lives to contribute to the restoration of Linley Reserve, a small, but significant reserve on the North Shore, without committing precious weekend time.

Take part in a life-changing day which will alter your perspective on those less fortunate and open your eyes to appreciate what you have.

 

Caring for people and the environment

Abilities Incorporated is a non-profit dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities through meaningful work.  

On this project you'll work alongside some of the 140 employees at the organisation, 70% of whom have physical or intellectual disabilities, helping with packaging, assembly or recycling tasks.

 

Conservation working bee at Matuku Link Reserve

Join us on June 20 for a morning working bee and experience a meaningful conservation project in a beautiful New Zealand setting.

 

Helping at Harbour Hospice

The valuable time you spend here will be contributing to the ongoing services Harbour Hospice provides to patients and families, improving their quality of life. 

Tasks include sorting, cleaning, packaging and pricing goods and then stacking on shelves ready for sale in the shops.

 

Donate books to Tonga

Books4Tonga needs your help to establish village libaries throughout Tonga.

Sort through your old books and select some to donate to this great cause.

 

Collect microplastic samples at Little Shoal Bay

University of Auckland scientists need your help! Collect microplastic samples to inform a new project that assesses their effect on the ecosystem.

 

Help community conservationists work towards a Predator-Free Auckland

There are lots of opportunities across Auckland for back-yard trappers to get involved and help bring the birdsong back to their gardens.

We're looking for volunteers to help our international students understand New Zealand workplace environment and culture.
