Sargent's session
A Jones definitions: Bipartisanship - a bigger than normal deception of of the general public"
Sargent David has confirmed that it is now summer - he appeared in shorts!
Three minute speaker:
Max had attended the Paediatricians Society of NZ recent conference. He made some interesting comments on ADHD, listing some of the symptoms. Members fell silent as they considered how many of the symptoms they had!
Speaker:
Linda Vagana, General manager of Duffy Books in Homes told the club that 575 schools benefited from this successful charity's actions. The Schools have to put up a third of the costs, the taxpayer a third and charities that final third. Over 30 Rotary clubs are amongst the charities supporting this project. Mainfreight is a major supporter. When asked about declining literacy standards in NZ schools Linda was very direct"mobile phones" with children using them all the time rather than reading books.
An impressive speaker doing a very good job.
