President David opened the meeting at 7.31.
New Banner: Ingrid bought the new RI banner which will grace our rostrum for the next eleven months. The new RI President is Jennifer Jones, the first female to be appointed to that role. The year's motto is "Imagine Rotary". YHC doesn't know what that means either.
Apologies: Malcolm (see below!) Sue and Avis. Greg is still away and has a 'standing' apology until he returns from the US.

Epsom Lodge Colin reported that he, Rosemary and Don S had served breakfast last week.
3 minute speech: Colin told us of Drago Relavich, a ninety old Kaitaia resident who had been serving his community in numerous areas for his life. An inspiration to us all.
Sargent's session: David told us of a golfer who had to drop out of a competition because he'd run out of balls! YHC hesitates to comment.
David also said he would be way next week so he had appointed Corporal Stephen to replace him. Stephen immediately passed the parcel to Malcolm. As Malcolm has not yet returned from India he was unable to pass the parcel to any other member! So - Malcolm, you're it next week! Welcome home!
Speaker:
Ingrid, standing in for the absent Interact visitors told us of the reorganising of the district/regional/zone structure of Rotary in our area. In the Australia/ NZ / Pacific area there are 21 districts, each of which have about 100 volunteers managing them. That's a lot of people!
The club has to vote on its approval or otherwise of the proposed changes. They seemed, logical and sensible so in YHC's opinion we should endorse them. As a wee bit of encouragement Ingrid will break anybody's arm who opposes all the hard work that she and other have put in over the last couple of years in getting the changes this far.
The meeting ended at 8.20am (Much longer than last week's meeting for members who read all the bulletin! )
