Welcome to yet another issue of the club's weekly bulletin!
Attendance; A very healthy number of probably close to 3 dozen, far in excess of normal ,including Ted ,Don Simmons, Jane de Groen, Rosemary Hambling and many partners.
(Many thanks to Phil and Rosemary (and their son) for hosting the event in their home, where the good parking and ambiance provided a very relaxed setting)
Apologies; Nick (whom I had hoped might write this bulletin as he is capable of adding some pictures) and David Jones.
President's announcements:
Malcolm made two Paul Harris awards which have actually been planned for more than 3 years ,but being delayed until now by Covid.
Firstly to Avis Nelson for her tireless work on various club projects, currently being the community garden, assisting the Grace Foundation and the curtain recycling scheme where her ability to get things moving and done has been greatly beneficial.
Secondly a Paul Harris with saphire bar, to Ted Van Arkel for continuous outstanding service to Rotary, first at the Panmure club, which he joined n 1984 and later at Parnell where he was a founding member alongside Ingrid and Colin.
He has been president and along standing trustee from when the club Trust was established.
One of his greatest club achievements was the Golf Tournament ,run for some 14 years in partnership with Progressive Enterprises, which raised over $2,000,000.
He has also often organised numerous great speakers for meetings and even succeeded in having PM John Key to speak a number of times.
Ted confirmed his admiration of Pres Malcolm's efforts with the community garden and especially with its connection with Grace Foundation and David Litali whom he has known for many years.
Meeting closed at 7.45pm
