Sargent's session
Rural Taranaki humour "Any woman can have the body of a 22 year old. All she has to do is give him a few drinks".
Three minute speaker:
Don C had a little quiz - what colour are you? He explained that management styles are often determined by personality type. Members showed that by and large they were not dominated by any specific style, with Avis hedging her bets by saying she had all the management styles!
Speaker:
Robert McDonald , Rory's son, is the On-Line Loyalty Manager at Air New Zealand. (Have you ever heard of a job title like that? )
Anyway, a very capable fellow, Rory must be proud of him.
Robert's team are involved with the Air NZ airpoints system. During the various lockdowns they upgraded the on-line offering considerably expanding the range of products and services that can be bought using air points (which are worth roughly a dollar each) and creating partnerships with trusted New Zealand based (and often owned) companies.
There was explanation of a lot of marketing techniques and how they could be used in the on-line area.
For many of us who've been involved in business but retired a little time ago it wa a fascinating presentation. And Robert was able to point out the significantly increased contribution that his team have been able to make to the firm's profitability with a doubling of visits to the website and sales up 150%. Not bad, eh?
The last day for a Club meeting this year is 14 December.
