This is a 'force of habit' bulletin. Well, actually, it's because YHC was told by the other
four attendees that it had to be written!
So, being a dutiful Rotarian, and being outnumbered, here it is!
Attendees: Colin, Stephen, Peter D, Max and YHC
As there were (was?) only the five of us we took a little table in the dining area with relative isolation and chatted. Subjects covered (in no particular order) included:
Why do all the bumps in the road, traffic calming devices, have different designs if they're designed with the same objective - to slow vehicles down?
Concentration camps, which three of us had visited.
The speaker next week will be Simon Bridges, boss of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and past leader of the National Party who will speak with the club about the Chamber of Commerce and politics in 2023
Colditz castle, which one of us had visited
Nazi attitudes to POWs from the Royal Air Force
Cricket - we did OK in Pakistan how are we going to go in India?
Past member Geoff Grenfell (92) who has been invited to speak to the club,
Climbing Rangitoto
Winning bonuses paid to amateur footballers
And other things that escape YHC's memory.
And, finally, why the hell is this sign still up?
See you next week
