Welcome to another bulletin for 2024.

 

Attendance; 14 including two guests being Shaune Malloch and his collegue, Ellie.

Shaune has been involved with Rotary longtime-10years with Waitakere-then Birkenhead-now runs a recruitment agency including placing ex prisoners in employment in cooperation with MSD and Corrections-headquartered Carbine Road,Mt Wellington.

Retiring as a partner to become a consultant last Friday.

 

Planning a motorcycle trip to Tibet and Nepal from mid April to mid May.(future speaker with pics, so we hope he comes back)

Planning to go to Everest base camp by electric bus from Chinese side.

 

Last Thursday was a successful meet at the  community garden with much weeding and compost from Henry's mulcher.

 

28th April will be an open day at the gardens where we hope to see some local businesses checking out the project.

 

Rotary District conference is on in April for those who want an early winter getaway.

 

Sargent's Session. Panic as Whitakers toffee bars have been discontinued/stopped-2018 the last white Rhino died-the Daily Bread bakery in Avondale has generated some publicity after "dealing to "its sparrows-Sunshine Coast is having a snake invasion-Chinese "zombie" factories are appearing-Average man can see much better than he can think (says the sargent).

Regionalisation is starting with aim of improving communication between clubs in our group and raise community visability of Rotary.
