President Phill followed the format of a Groups meeting with the group leaders commenting in their activities.
Ted reported that The DG will be visiting the club on 13th October - so best bib and tucker, fellows!
Ted also asked if anybody has any connections with people who could comment on Afghanistan
Peter B reported that the container for Fiji is now nearly full. Work is still taking place to fill it and get it off to Fiji. Additionally he was able to comment that Fiji is in urgent need of additional medical supplies.
Phill reported on the tree planting at Kepa Rd last Saturday. The planters were Henry (plus wife and daughter) Peter B (plus wife) Phill, David J, Sue and YHC. 250 trees were planted, a most satisfactory outcome. It was suggested that it would be great to have a barbeque there in the summer when all members can admire our contribution to the scenery and an experiment of native tree growth in different environments.
Phill reported that Henry and he had the Rama Krishna facility atNew Lynn. The Swami has facilitated mediation classes at some local schools and that these had attracted very positive feedback. Phill is arranging for members to be able to attend meditation classes on Thursdays between 7 and 8 pm. Details to follow.
Karel reported that our travelling member Greg is due back in Godzone late August then spends two weeks in prison (sorry, MIQ) before he's allowed to circulate.
